What should I do if my website has been hacked?
Don’t delete anything yet: the changed files show how they got in. Change the passwords for your website admin and your hosting account, then call or text BLACKBX. A developer will look at it the same business day and tell you what’s happened before any work starts.
How much does it cost to fix a hacked website?
It depends on the platform, how much of the site is infected and whether there’s a clean backup. A BLACKBX developer looks at your site first, then gives you a price for the fix. Nothing starts until you’ve agreed to it.
How quickly can you look at it?
Call or text BLACKBX during business hours and a developer looks at it the same day. How long the clean-up takes depends on what we find; we’ll tell you when we’ve looked.
Do I need to be a BLACKBX client?
No. We’ll look at it and quote whether or not you sign up for anything. Afterwards, if you’d like us to keep it fixed, Maintenance starts at $840 a month + GST with no minimum term.
Will the “This site may be hacked” warning in Google go away?
Once the site is clean, BLACKBX requests a review from Google. Google runs the review and removes the warning when the site passes; we’ll tell you when it’s been requested.
How do I stop it happening again?
We find how they got in and close it. Keeping it closed means keeping the site updated, which is what BLACKBX Maintenance is for: our developers update and patch the site, and on CMS and PHP sites we also scan for known vulnerabilities daily.
Which platforms do you fix?
